Two SA female CEOs named among Forbes’ 2025 World’s 100 Most Powerful Women

South African women have been strongly represented on the global stage after FirstRand CEO Mary Vilakazi and Bidvest CEO Mpumi Madisa were named among Forbes’ 2025 World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.
Vilakazi and Madisa were ranked 74th and 89th, respectively, for leading two of South Africa’s largest companies and steering them through difficult economic environments.
The 2025 Forbes list recognises women who influence global business, policy and society, placing South African leadership alongside international peers.
Their recognition shows global confidence in SA executives and highlights women leaders who combine business skills with real impact.

Santa Cause for Paws raises over R1 million in sponsorships in 2025

Santa Cause for Paws has raised more than R1 million in sponsorships in 2025 to support 216 animal welfare organisations across South Africa.
The registered NPC collects funds through Facebook sponsorships and website pledges, allowing welfare organisations to apply annually with verified needs and item lists.
Each selected organisation receives a dedicated Facebook album, where supporters sponsor individual animals at R250 per sponsorship.
The funds are pooled, and volunteers purchase food, treats, toys and essential supplies requested by each organisation before distribution at the end of the year.

The AmaGroove music camp is set to make its return to Krugersdorp in March 2026, bringing together talented artists from across the globe for a week-long residency.
The cross-cultural music camp will take place from 22–29 March 2026, at the Kromdraai Impact Hub.
Aspiring producers, songwriters, and top-liners, get an opportunity to be mentored by established artists including Muneyi, Mishy Kope, and Msaki.
Applications are currently open until 6 January 2026, offering a unique opportunity for emerging artists to learn from industry experts and build lasting connections.
