Johannesburg has been ranked among the world's leading street food destinations, after securing eighth place on Time Out's list of the 20 Best Cities in the World for Street Food in 2026.

Johannesburg scored 56 percent, placing it ahead of renowned food destinations such as Bangkok and Mumbai.
Time Out's general manager Aisha Mohamed says the publication aims to spotlight the people, neighbourhoods and food traditions that give South African cities their unique character.
The ranking reflects the growing interest among travellers who are seeking authentic food culture and experiences.

The Brave, Bright & Brilliant Women' children's book series is using storytelling and visual literature to introduce primary-age readers to stories of African women's leadership, courage and achievements.
Author Tshireletso Moloi says the series aims to promote literacy while encouraging cultural pride and a stronger sense of identity.
