The Future Leaders Challenge has launched its 2026 programme.
The programme aims to encourage learners to embrace leadership and to become agents of positive change.
Learners gathered at Hyde Park on the 14th of August, where they attended a movie screening as part of the programme.
The initiative aims to develop young people into leaders who can identify challenges in their communities and to work towards practical solutions.
Participants were introduced to successful teams from the 2025 Future Leaders Challenge, allowing them to gain insight from contributors who had already completed the programme.
Primestars Chief Executive Officer Nkosinathi Moshoana encouraged the learners to take ownership of the opportunities presented to them through the programme.
Moshoana has also highlighted the role of programme partners, in making the initiative possible through resources such as educational content, books, cinemas, facilitators and other support.

Learners invited to create South Africa’s first space mascot

The South African National Space Agency is inviting high school learners to design the country’s first official space mascot.
The competition is open to learners in Gr. 8 to 11 at registered public, independent and home schools across South Africa.
Entrants are invited to submit an original mascot design, together with a short-written explanation, through the official online entry portal by midnight on Monday the 14th of September.
The winning design will be professionally developed into Sansa’s official mascot for use at schools, youth outreach events and public engagements across the country.
