Johannesburg has been ranked among the world's leading street food destinations, after securing eighth place on Time Out's list of the 20 Best Cities in the World for Street Food in 2026.

Johannesburg scored 56 percent, placing it ahead of renowned food destinations such as Bangkok and Mumbai.
Time Out's general manager Aisha Mohamed, says the publication aims to spotlight the people, neighbourhoods and food traditions that give South African cities their unique character.
The ranking reflects the growing interest among travellers who are seeking authentic food culture and experiences.

The Brave, Bright & Brilliant Women' children's book series is using storytelling and visual literature to introduce primary-age readers to stories of African women's leadership, courage and achievements.
Author Tshireletso Moloi, says the series aims to promote literacy while encouraging cultural pride and a stronger sense of identity.

The Author says the series serves as a reclamation of history, that places African women at the centre of the narrative.

The City of Tshwane has confirmed that the refurbishment of the Hillcrest Swimming Pool has reached the halfway mark.
The City says the remaining upgrades are set to continue after the facility reopens next month.

The Metro Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says the maintenance programme was divided into two phases to ensure that the project could continue despite budget limitations.
Mashigo said the remaining scope of work entails repairs and maintenance of the Grandstand Pavilion, which is expected to be completed on or before the end of the current financial year.
