JMDP says any vehicle that is found with 3x or more defects will be discontinued from operating on public roads.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla says the defects include worn tyres, cracked windscreens, engine oil leaks, faulty brakes and indicators that are not working:

The 15-week program, supported by the South African Insurance Association, covered key topics such as budgeting, saving, and investing.

The initiative aims to equip young learners with the knowledge and tools needed for financial success, setting them up for a brighter financial future.

Moving over to Europe where a Jersey GP practice has become the first on the island to adopt an AI-powered system in a bid to improve patient consultations and help doctors.
The BBC reports that a doctor testing the software says it transcribes conversations between doctors and patients, allowing GPs to focus on the consultation without manual note-taking.
He says artificial intelligence would allow GPs to be more present during appointments, improve communication with patients and enhance the overall patient experience.
Heidi Health which is used in 50 countries, is also able to undertake tasks such as drafting referral letters and letters to patients based on a consultation.
