Harare to host 263 Culture Fest in October

Shannon Strydom and his father, Gert Strydom, will face off in a first for South African boxing on Saturday at Carnival City, Brakpan.
Shannon trains Chris Thompson, who aims to reclaim the national heavyweight belt, while Gert guides defending champion Shaun Potgieter.
The venue is familiar to Shannon, who watched his first professional fight there at age seven.
Dubbed “Fire and Ice,” the 12-round bout will mark the first time a father and son have opposed each other in different corners in a professional SA fight.
The card also features a mini flyweight clash between former gym-mates Siyamthanda Wophela and Sabelo Nkosi, with action starting at 7pm.

Harare to host 263 Culture Fest in October

Harare has been confirmed as the host city for the 263 Culture Fest, which will take place on 18 October.
The line-up includes Major League DJz, DJ Kent, De Mthuda, Ciza, Moozlie, A-Reece and Major Prodi, with organisers indicating that more South African acts will be added in the coming weeks.
The event, hosted by Moozlie, will also mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month and support local children’s homes.
A creative industry workshop has been scheduled as part of the programme, offering training on business skills and the use of artificial intelligence tools, with music producer Tony Duardo expected to feature as a guest speaker.
The festival, now a regular fixture, has been positioned as a platform for cultural exchange between Zimbabwe and South Africa.
