Airlink boosts aviation skills development
Story 1
Airlink has donated a decommissioned Embraer 135 passenger jet to the Gauteng Department of Basic Education, where it will be used as a hands-on training resource at the Rhodesfield Engineering School of Specialisation in Kempton Park.
By having direct access to a real commercial aircraft, students will be able to engage with complex systems, structures and engineering processes in ways that would otherwise be impossible in a purely academic setting.
The acting principal of Rhodesfield Engineering SOS, Caroline Ngxanga, says the aircraft will be an invaluable teaching aid for the school's Grade 11 and 12 learners who will begin taking aviation as their eighth matric subject.
