Pharos collects school supplies for children
Story 1
Pharos Community Centre is collecting stationery and school supplies for children from financially disadvantaged families ahead of the new school year.
The Pretoria-based organisation is running its annual Stationery Drive, with individuals, businesses, schools and stationery suppliers invited to donate.
Last year, Pharos provided supplies to 42 learners from Laerskool Garsfontein and 122 children in foster care.
The organisation says the drive helps families cover the cost of basic school supplies and gives children the materials they need for the school year.
