St Stithians College has raised nearly R5.1 million through its annual Giving Day, surpassing its R5 million target.
The 48 hour campaign saw contributions doubled by matching donors, with funds supporting the college’s endowment fund and the Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy.
The academy provides extra tuition, scholarships and teacher development for learners and educators from historically disadvantaged communities.

The Teranes family has thanked people for the overwhelming support they have received since a fire destroyed their home and Delfi Greek Taverna earlier this month.
More than R79,000 has been raised through a crowdfunding campaign, while the family has also received practical help and temporary accommodation.
The family has also praised chef Ayakha Godlwana, who risked his life to rescue Doddy Teranes from the burning building.

The Mogale City Business Committee donated vegetable seeds and gardening tools to Thuto Kitso Engineering School SOS: Mining and Agriculture in Fochville.
The donation forms part of the One School One Garden Initiative, which helps schools establish productive vegetable gardens while giving learners practical experience in agriculture and entrepreneurship.
The project also supports food production, environmental awareness and skills development.
