Story 3
The World Bank has revised South Africa’s 2025 growth forecast from 1.6% to 1.8%, citing improvements in the energy and logistics sectors.
The suspension of load-shedding since March 2024 and a recovery in rail and ports have positively impacted the economy.
The World Bank’s report also highlights recovery in the logistics sector, particularly in rail and ports, which had been affected heavily by inefficiencies and also industrial action in previous years.
The bank anticipates that this positive trend will continue, leading to an expected 2.0% GDP growth by 2027.
