Woolworths Turns Marathon Food into Meals for Cape Town Communities
Story 2
In a move to support those in need, Woolworths quickly redirected food after the 2025 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon was cancelled due to high winds.
The retailer, the official food sponsor, ensured bananas, apples, potatoes, dates, sandwiches, and other produce reached 18 charities across Cape Town.
By 10am on race day, all the food had been delivered to communities in need.
Woolworths says the swift action transformed what could have been wasted into meals for thousands of people across the city.

Singapore introduces green levy to fund cleaner aviation fuel
Story 3
Singapore has approved a new levy on departing flights to support the use of sustainable aviation fuel and cut emissions.
The fee, collected by the Civil Aviation Authority, will fund the purchase and management of cleaner fuel for airlines.
Authorities aim to raise the use of sustainable aviation fuel to over one percent by next year, and up to five percent by 2030.
The levy is expected to add between three and sixteen Singapore dollars to an economy-class ticket, depending on distance, but officials say the impact on fares will be minimal.
The International Air Transport Association says sustainable fuel could deliver two-thirds of the cuts needed for the aviation sector to reach net zero by 2050.
