TUT Supports Children Living with Disabilities in Mabopane

The Tshwane University of Technology has donated essentials and gifts to children living with disabilities at the Bongwanake Foundation in Mabopane.
The outreach, led by several TUT departments, forms part of the university’s community engagement work and follows commitments made during Mandela Day 2025.
TUT also says it will support the foundation with therapy services and computers to improve learning and care for the children.

Gauteng Launches School Safety Outreach Programme

The Gauteng Department of Education has launched a two-month community outreach programme aimed at improving safety and learning conditions in schools across the province.
Education MEC Lebogang Maile says the initiative, It Takes a Village to Raise a Child – Thuto Pele Education First, will include 46 community meetings across all 15 districts, where officials will engage with parents, teachers, learners and local organisations.
The sessions will focus on issues such as learner violence, vandalism, substance abuse and disruptions to teaching, while exploring possible community-led solutions.
The department says the aim is to strengthen cooperation between schools and communities to improve education outcomes.
