The City of Ekurhuleni has rolled out five new waste compactor trucks and four bakkies to enhance waste collection in Springs and Alberton. Officials say the new trucks will help reduce downtime caused by ageing vehicles and improve waste management efficiency.
Two of the newly acquired bakkies will be used for landfill site monitoring to ensure compliance with disposal regulations. With 26 compactor trucks set to be written off, the city expects five more trucks by June to strengthen waste collection services.
