Water supply in parts of Joburg to be fully restored by Wednesday

Rand Water says it began pumping water into the system on Tuesday evening, after parts of Johannesburg were left without water due to emergency repairs on a burst pipeline.

Rand Water’s group chief executive Sipho Mosai says the system will recover fully by late Wednesday afternoon.

The emergency shutdown has affected water supply across several Johannesburg water systems, mainly in the West Rand.

Affected areas include those supplied by the Soweto, Commando, Randburg and Deep South systems.

Liberty SA pledges R1 million to NOVAR app

Two young men from Malamulele in Limpopo, have received R1 million in support from Liberty for their e-learning app, NOVAR.

The app, which has gained over 50,000 downloads, aims to make learning accessible, particularly for learners in remote areas.

NOVAR features lessons in subjects including Mathematics and Science and is freely accessible.
The funding was facilitated by Communications Minister Solly Malatsi.
