Residents, volunteers and local businesses are joining forces to reclaim the Corlett Drive corridor in Johannesburg through daily clean-ups, security patrols and community activities.Since April 2025, volunteers have collected rubbish, improved safety measures and organised weekly walks and runs that encourage families and residents to use public spaces again.Private security teams and community patrols are working together to make the area cleaner and safer.The initiative is now calling on more residents and businesses to volunteer and contribute so the community-led renewal project can continue to grow.Chair of the Corlett Drive Improvement Precinct, Mark Pensharz spoke on the Feel Good Fix earlier.

South African skateboarding star Jean-Marc Johannes has made history with his debut at the DBKU International X Games in Malaysia. This further cements his status as Africa's most successful skateboarder. He previously won South Africa's first international skateboarding gold, silver and bronze medals. He is the first African skateboarder to be inducted into the Guinness World Records history book in 2024 after breaking five world records in 2023. His achievements have also earned him several accolades, including African Youth Sports Athlete of the Year and the Rising Star Award.

To mark International Day for Countering Hate Speech, Moxii Africa hosted a workshop at the Goethe-Institut in Johannesburg. The event brought together media professionals to discuss tackling misinformation, hate speech and xenophobia. The workshop encourages dialogue, understanding and respect across different cultures and communities. Moxii Africa director William Bird said the workshop aimed to help newsrooms better understand these challenges and find constructive solutions when such issues arise.
