To mark International Day for Countering Hate Speech, Moxii Africa hosted a workshop at the Goethe-Institut in Johannesburg. The event brought together media professionals to discuss tackling misinformation, hate speech and xenophobia. The workshop encourages dialogue, understanding and respect across different cultures and communities. Moxii Africa director William Bird said the workshop aimed to help newsrooms better understand these challenges and find constructive solutions when such issues arise.

A group of Redhill learners have earned the honour of representing South Africa at the upcoming International Junior Maths Olympiad in Mongolia.The talented students secured their places on Team South Africa after completing a demanding selection process organised by the South African Junior Olympiads body. Over several months, they tackled multiple rounds of trials, homework assignments and intensive training before being chosen to compete against some of the world's brightest young mathematicians.

A month-old pony named Mile has become an unlikely apartment resident in the Croatian coastal town of Rovinj after moving into his owners' fourth-floor flat. Mile was brought indoors after being rejected by his mother at birth and later undergoing surgery for a serious infection. Thanks to donations from caring members of the public, his life-saving treatment was covered, and his owners now provide round-the-clock care, feeding him every two hours. Despite sharing the small apartment with a family, a dog and two children, Mile has settled in well and even wakes his owners when it's time for a meal. The unusual houseguest has also captured the attention of neighbours, who have welcomed him without complaint.
