Child safety campaign empowers Glenesk community

Community leaders, emergency services and safety partners have come together in Glenesk to equip children and adults with practical skills to help keep them safe.
Around 50 children and 20 adults took part in sessions covering stranger danger, road safety, water safety and fire prevention, while safety messages were also shared with senior residents.
The campaign was organised to strengthen community awareness and encourage everyone to play a role in protecting vulnerable residents.

Mandela Day surgical marathon brings hope to Mpumalanga patients

A team of specialist urologists from African Synergy Health is partnering with the Mpumalanga Department of Health this week to perform life changing surgeries for patients who have been waiting for treatment.
The initiative, running from 20 to 24 July as part of the Mandela Surgical Marathon, is taking place at Rob Ferreira Hospital and Cure Day Hospitals Mbombela to help reduce surgical waiting lists.
African Synergy Health founder and urologist Dr Viola Morolo says the goal is to complete 200 procedures during the surgical marathon.

A young entrepreneur from Limpopo has developed a WhatsApp based AI tutor to help South African learners access homework support, revision tools and quizzes in their home languages.
Tshaamano Mabuba created BuddyAI after recognising that many learners could not afford private tutoring, using technology to make quality educational support more accessible.
The platform has already helped learners improve their results, with one matric learner earning five distinctions before returning as a tutor to support others.
