The MYFuture App provides personalised career guidance, mentorship and learning support through a low-data platform designed for local conditions.
The platform aims to bridge the gap between schooling and work by giving young people access to future-ready skills and opportunities.
It was developed by Kempton Park ICT leader and doctoral researcher Natasha Prins, who wants to help young people discover their potential.

FoodForward SA held its annual food-packing event, with Coronation employees volunteering to help strengthen food security in South Africa.
The organisation redistributes surplus food through more than 2,500 beneficiary organisations, reaching nearly one million vulnerable people every day.
Last year's campaign packed 200 tonnes of food, providing more than 880,000 meals to communities across the country.

Somerset Learner Shortlisted For Global Prize

Somerset College learner Petrus Bosman has been shortlisted for the 2026 John Locke Institute Global Essay Prize in the Economics category.
His essay was selected from more than 100,000 entries submitted by students in 183 countries.
Petrus will attend the awards ceremony in London in October, where category winners will be announced.
His shortlist place recognises his work in economics and academic writing.
