Silverton neighbourhood watch marks 10 years with community clean-up

The residents of Silverton Ext 5 joined Eyewatch Voeltjiedorp to mark the group’s 10th anniversary with a community clean-up.
Together, the community cut overgrown grass, cleared stormwater drains, and restored visibility at street corners.
Around 35 to 40 volunteers took part, with support from a local church and FADT Security.
The clean-up improved the area’s safety and appearance while celebrating a decade of neighbourhood watch activity in Silverton Ext 5.

Youth team makes history in Cape2Rio race

Deputy Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Peace Mabe has congratulated the youth sailing team Alexforbes Angel Wings after they claimed first place on handicap in the 2025 Cape2Rio race.
The crew was led by Skipper Sibusiso Sizatu and First Mate Renaldo Mohale. They completed the 3,300-nautical mile transatlantic crossing.
For three of the sailors, it was their first Atlantic crossing, making the victory even more remarkable.
