Wanderers gymnast Kadin Chester, who recently secured 39th place at the men’s junior world championships in the Philippines, has his sights set firmly on the Olympics. The 18-year-old said he felt fully prepared for the championships. Chester's long-term goal is to make the Olympic team and pursue gymnastics as a career. SA international judge for the junior world championships, Bobby Budai, says Chester's was second only to one Egyptian. This means that South Africa is capable of competing internationally and that Kadin’s goal to qualify for the Olympics is not unrealistic.

Johannesburg residents can enjoy the city's annual Festival of Lights every Thursday to Sunday from 7pm to 10 pm at the Joburg Zoo.The annual showcase features thousands of dazzling lights, life-size illuminated animal displays and exciting entertainment, offering families a magical night-time experience and a standout holiday attraction. Spokesperson for Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo, Jenny Moodley says the Festival will continue until the 4th of January 2026
