Rescue dogs look for forever homes at Fourways adoption day

Animal lovers in Fourways will have a chance to meet rescue dogs looking for new homes at Woodrock Animal Rescue’s Market and Adoption Day in October.
The family friendly event will feature local market stalls, food and handmade goods, while visitors can meet dogs from Woodrock and learn more about adoption.
The event will also collect donations including pet food, blankets, towels, leashes and cleaning supplies for animals in the organisation’s care.
It takes place on Saturday, 31 October from 9am to 2pm at Fourways Crossing Bark Park.

Knitters turn movie afternoon into a good cause

More than 100 knitters and crocheters gathered at Cedar Square in Johannesburg for a special screening of Notting Hill in celebration of World Granny Square Day.
The 123-seat cinema was filled with people knitting and crocheting granny squares while watching the film.
The event was hosted by Community Hours in partnership with 67 Blankets, which turns donated squares into blankets and scarves for people in need.
