Medal Winners Announced at Eskom Expo

A total of 16 gold, 32 silver and 47 bronze medals were awarded at the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists Ekurhuleni regional science fair.
130-projects were showcased at the fair by 174 young scientists in Grades 4-to-12 and Technical and Vocational Education and Training students.
The best innovation project went to Itumeleng Chiloane from Tuka Curious Minds Stem Club.
Eskom Expo executive director, Parthy Chetty, says the fair forms a vital part of South Africa’s broader strategy to invest in skills development.

2 skaters from Kimberley in the Northern Cape will take part in an international skating competition in Russia.
The Grand Skate tour will bring together some of the best skaters from across the globe, offering the duo a unique opportunity to not only test their skills against elite athletes, but also to proudly represent both South Africa and the African continent in a space where the continent is often underrepresented.
The pair will compete in the street skate-boarding category, a fast paced and highly technical style that demands creativity, precision and confidence.

Tanzania has started with the construction of a stunning new stadium worth 112-million-dollars ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Planned to seat 30-thousand spectators, the venue will be named after President Samia Suluhu Hassan and is expected to become a landmark for both sports and tourism in Arusha.
Tanzania will co-host the AFCON 2027 with Uganda and Kenya which will run across June and July.
