Kenyan runners dominate Boston Marathon with record breaking wins

Kenya’s John Korir and Sharon Lokedi have successfully defended their titles at the Boston Marathon, securing a double victory for their country.
Korir won the men’s race in a new course record of 2 hours 1 minute 52 seconds, breaking a mark that had stood since 2011 after pulling away in the closing stages.
In the women’s race, Lokedi produced a strong finishing kick to take victory in 2 hours 18 minutes 51 seconds, adding another major marathon title to her record.
Both athletes say patience and timing were key as they held off strong competition to secure their wins in Boston.
