Fourways dance team wins multiple medals at Serbia competition
Story 1
Afrika Tikkun has opened a sensory therapeutic facility in Orange Farm, south of Johannesburg, built from a repurposed shipping container and recycled household waste.
Community members, including parents and caregivers, helped construct the centre using materials such as plastic bottles and detergent containers, which were converted into sensory tools and installations.
The facility supports neurodiverse children and young people with developmental, emotional and sensory needs by providing a space designed for regulation, learning and engagement.
The organisation says the project aims to improve inclusion by creating an environment where children who may be overwhelmed in standard play spaces can participate and learn.
