Dis-Chem is increasing nurse recruitment and creating **auxiliary nurse positions** as it expands its Health Hub stores. The new care assistants will support clinic nurses with routine tasks such as recording vital signs, basic tests, clinic administration, patient flow and documentation.This will allow professional nurses to focus more on **clinical assessments, personalised health guidance and referrals** when needed. Dis-Chem’s Health Hub model brings a clinic, pharmacy and medical insurance services together in one location, giving patients access to different healthcare services during a single visit.The first Health Hub opened at **Melrose Arch in May**, with plans to expand the model across the country.

Menlyn Park Shopping Centre has won 14 awards at the 2026 South African Council of Shopping Centres Footprint Marketing Awards. This includes one Gold, nine Silver and four Bronze awards. The awards recognised campaigns that brought brands, businesses and shoppers together through creative experiences and community-focused activities.
The centre’s Gold Award was presented in the Strategic Marketing category for its I DO Bridal Fair, which also received Silver awards for tactical activation and social media. Other recognised campaigns included Destination Winter, Matric Expo, Menlyn Som van Twee Premiere and Moms of Menlyn.

Learners and teachers from Herman High School are helping turn Hermanus pink in support of local cancer patients.The school has joined Overstrand Hospice’s annual Pink Trees for Pauline campaign, cutting and preparing hundreds of metres of pink fabric to wrap around trees across the community. Residents, businesses and public spaces are also being encouraged to take part by buying pink fabric and decorating a tree of their own.
Every metre sold by the hospice helps fund vital support for cancer patients and their families, including home nursing, counselling, transport, food parcels, toiletries and wheelchairs.
