Transnet has been recognised for transforming public sector procurement with its fully digital e-Tender portal, winning the GIBS Logistics Achiever Gold Award 2025.
Launched four years ago, the cloud-based system replaced paper tenders, improving efficiency, transparency, and governance, while reducing irregular expenditure by 40-percent.
The portal has processed over one million documents and generated 1.8-billion-rand in value in 2024/25. The platform has broadened Small, Medium, and Micro-sized Enterprises participation, fostered accountability, and advanced Transnet’s digital modernisation for inclusive economic growth.
