Johannesburg will host the Global Citizen NOW summit tomorrow at the Sandton Convention Centre, a day before the G20 Summit which is scheduled for 22–23 November.
The event will gather world leaders, investors and philanthropists.
Global Citizen said the campaign seeks commitments for clean energy access for 10 million households, with 4.6 million already pledged.
Discussions will focus on health security, climate resilience and G20 priorities of solidarity, equality and sustainability, aiming to end extreme poverty and protect the planet.

South African National Parks and the Good Work Foundation have joined forces to expand digital learning and skills training near key national parks.
SanParks, which manages 21 national parks, says the initiative aims to expand access to digital education and skills training in remote and township communities surrounding these parks.
The partnership will focus on providing access to technology and digital learning, which is crucial for launching remote communities into the digital future.

More than 450 volunteers have joined Mellon Educate’s 2025 Building Blitz earlier this week, in a major push to confront South Africa’s deepening literacy crisis.
With most Grade-4 learners unable to read for meaning, the initiative is transforming classrooms and creating dedicated literacy hubs in partnership with the Western Cape Education Department.
