UP, Eskom, and SANEDI launch AI Chair to improve South Africa’s energy

The University of Pretoria, together with Eskom and SANEDI, has launched the Eskom–SANEDI Chair in AI in Energy.
The initiative will use artificial intelligence to help make South Africa’s electricity more reliable, efficient, and sustainable, addressing the needs of millions who still lack consistent power.
The Chair also trains students and young engineers to apply AI in energy, with a focus on renewable energy, energy storage, and carbon capture technologies.

KwaZulu-Natal Human Settlements MEC, Siboniso Duma, has outlined several new housing projects for Mandeni residents during a community Imbizo in KwaSithebe.
Four major developments are planned across multiple wards, including separate and multi-ward housing initiatives.
