The Cradle of Hope will host its annual fundraising golf day at Ruimsig Country Club in July, bringing together businesses, golfers and community members to raise support for vulnerable residents.
The event will raise funds for feeding schemes, food security projects, skills development and outreach programmes that assist more than 2 000 people each day.
It will also feature networking, entertainment and a R100 000 hole-in-one competition.

Stationery campaign supports thousands of South learners

Almost 9,000 learners across South Africa will receive stationery packs after R1 million was raised through the Checkers Act For Change Back to School campaign in partnership with Meals on Wheels.
The initiative will supply essential school items such as pens, exercise books and calculators to learners in under-resourced schools.
The funds were collected through sales of a limited-edition exam pad, customer donations at till points and contributions from stationery brands.
Organisers say the drive helps learners enter classrooms with the basic tools needed to take part more confidently in lessons.
