Hillbrow centre offers free digital skills

A new Digital Learning Centre has opened in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, giving Grade 7 to Grade 9 learners free access to coding, robotics and digital skills training.
Netstar and Altron launched the centre with Jozi My Jozi and MES at the BG Alexander Estate to help inner-city youth gain STEM skills.
Learners rotate through robotics, problem-solving and computer literacy programmes, while nearby schools can also use the facility during the school day.
The Hillbrow site is the second digital centre launched through the partnership following a similar project in Marshalltown.

Developers say the precinct is designed to combine community interaction, commerce and creative activity in one space.

Harry Styles’ 12 London concerts at Wembley Stadium are expected to generate more than R23–R24 billion in combined fan spending.
Barclays estimates fans will spend about R23,000 each on tickets, travel, accommodation, food, drinks and merchandise during the shows.
The concerts form part of Styles’ global tour, which also includes stops in cities such as Amsterdam, New York, São Paulo and Sydney.
Barclays says the figures reflect strong spending on live events and concert tourism.
