Kew residents unite to restore Corlett Drive

Residents of Kew together with members of the Bramley CPF, the Sandringham Youth Desk and Community Policing Forum joined forces in a Youth Day clean-up campaign aimed at restoring a section of Corlett Drive in Kew.

Volunteers spent the day cutting grass, trimming trees and sweeping sidewalks to improve the appearance and safety of the area.

Kew Action Group chairman Ruggero Grech-Cunbo said the organisation was proud to support the community initiative with equipment, machinery and resources.
Bramley CPF member Lebo Kgang said the clean-up was a meaningful way to commemorate Youth Day.

Bavuma joins a growing list of South Africans who have been featured in the TIME100 Most Influential People list including Comedian and host Trevor Noah, Springboks captain Siya Kolisi and actress and humanitarian Nomzamo Mbatha.

The recognition reflects a remarkable period of achievement for South African cricket.

The 1 Million School Shoes Campaign, in partnership with the Free State Department of Education, is bringing hope to learners from disadvantaged backgrounds by handing over 1 300 brand-new pairs of school shoes in Meloding, Virginia, and surrounding areas of Matjhabeng.

The campaign which was established in 2015 continues to make a meaningful impact by ensuring learners have the basic necessities needed to pursue their education.

The initiative seeks to restore dignity and support children who often travel long distances to school without proper footwear.
