The Agape Christian School hosted its annual Walk the Talk fundraising event bringing together learners, parents, and staff for a day of fun and community spirit.

The school’s social media manager, Tarryn Elaine, says the event serves as one of the school’s flagship fundraising initiatives aimed at fostering stronger relationships, teamwork and a sense of unity.

Participants enjoyed a 3.5km walk and a host of entertainment activities, including face painting, fishing games and go-kart races.

Elaine believes the event successfully achieved its fundraising and community-building objectives, leaving participants with lasting memories and a renewed sense of connection within the Agape family.

Greenside Primary crowned Science Scuffle champions

Greenside Primary School claimed first prize at the Science Scuffle finals and prize-giving ceremony, that was hosted by the City of Johannesburg's Library and Information Services Directorate.

The competition challenges Grade 6 and 7 learners to test their scientific knowledge through quiz questions based on books from the city's special science collections.

School teams competed at library, zonal, regional and metropolitan levels, with the overall winner being decided at the Metropolitan Final.

South Africa pays tribute to musical icon Abdullah Ibrahim

Tributes continue to pour in following the passing of renowned South African jazz musician and composer Abdullah Ibrahim, as many reflect on the depth of the legend's musical legacy.

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the icon's profound creations honoured the South Africa that shaped his political commitment and musical brilliance.

The 91-year-old cultural activist passed away in Germany on the 15th of June, following a short illness.

The legend was awarded the Order of Ikhamanga in Silver in 2009 in recognition of his excellent contribution to the arts.

The Presidential Spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says Ibrahim touched countless lives through his musical talent and leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
