Twenty patients at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital will receive hearing implant procedures after a fundraising campaign raised R2 million.
The patients, who have already been assessed, will now be able to access the treatment needed to improve their hearing.
A private clinic in Meyersdal has also joined the project, offering the procedures at reduced costs.
The partnership will help expand access to hearing care for patients who need the implants.

Sixty-seven learners from four primary schools in the Bojanala District have published a poetry collection honouring Nelson Mandela.
The book, Mandela in Young Voices, features poems written by the learners and was published by Book World South Africa.
The project gives young writers a platform to share their creativity while promoting reading and writing skills.
This forms part of literacy programmes aimed at supporting education in local communities.
