The Gautrain is expanding beyond rail services with the launch of Gau Express, a new e hailing platform that will connect commuters between their homes and Gautrain stations.
The service is designed to improve first and last mile travel, enhance passenger safety and create a more seamless journey by integrating road transport with the Gautrain network.
The new platform is expected to make public transport more convenient and accessible for thousands of commuters across Gauteng.

South African surgeon Dr Kirthi Ramdhani has become the first person in Africa to qualify as both a paediatric surgeon and a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, marking a major milestone for specialist healthcare on the continent.
As part of the Smile Foundation's surgical team, Dr Ramdhani will use her unique expertise to treat children with complex conditions, including cleft lip and palate, facial differences, burns and other reconstructive needs.
Her dual qualification strengthens specialist care available through South Africa's public healthcare system and will help more children receive life changing surgery and ongoing treatment.

Amazon has invested R24 million in a major environmental project that will restore parts of the Klip River corridor in Soweto while creating jobs and supporting local communities.
The initiative will restore 130 hectares of river landscape, plant 20 000 trees, create hundreds of jobs and train more than 1 000 women to develop income generating businesses linked to environmental restoration.
The project will also use technology to help the City of Johannesburg improve climate planning and strengthen protection against flooding and extreme heat.
