Nal’ibali marked Mandela Day by hosting literacy activities and supporting school improvements in Soweto.
The organisation worked with the Adopt-a-School Foundation and other partners at Thathani Primary School, where volunteers refurbished classrooms, donated 600 books and held storytelling sessions for learners.
Nal’ibali also hosted a Step Into Change event in Orlando West, featuring reading activities, youth sessions and community support.
The initiatives reached hundreds of children and promoted access to books and literacy resources.

Hospitality and tourism leaders will meet at Emperors Palace on 31 July to discuss challenges facing the sector, including artificial intelligence, climate change and skills development.
The annual Hospitality Industry Think Tank will also raise funds for youth training through the Think Big Academy, which prepares young people for careers in hospitality.
The programme provides accredited training, workplace experience and mentorship for learners from disadvantaged communities.
Organisers say the initiative aims to expand skills development and create more opportunities in the tourism sector.

Sport, Arts and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie says South Africa is home to exceptional creative talent and urged the public to nominate deserving performers, writers, filmmakers, cultural practitioners and other creatives.
The awards celebrate individuals and organisations whose work has made a meaningful impact on the country's cultural landscape.
