Omnia Group employees have donated food and baby essentials to vulnerable mothers and newborns at Witkoppen Clinic in Fourways.
The donations will support families enrolled in the clinic’s Fresh Start programme, which provides care and support to vulnerable children and their families.
Volunteers distributed food to mothers attending the clinic and handed over hampers containing essential items for babies.
The clinic says the donations will help ease the burden on families facing financial and food insecurity.

Brakpan powerlifter Pieter Bulldog Vorster has qualified for the African Championships after meeting the required standards in the strict arm curl and freestanding curl.
Competing in the Men’s Master Class 4 division, the 55 to 59 year old won gold in both events at the national championships, lifting 45 kilograms in the strict arm curl and 80 kilograms in the freestanding curl.
He will now compete at the African Championships in Durban from 23 to 24 September.

Former waste picker Sifiso Gumbi has turned his experience into an initiative supporting more than 450 waste reclaimers across Johannesburg and surrounding areas.
Through Urban Surfer South Africa, Gumbi helps reclaimers earn more sustainable incomes while keeping recyclable waste out of landfills.
The organisation provides recycling hubs, branded trolleys and protective equipment, while partnering with businesses to create better opportunities.
In one nine month period, 50 reclaimers collected more than 700,000 kilograms of recyclable plastic worth about R1.4 million.
