TUT students gain career insights at Women in Media speed mentoring

Tshwane University of Technology, in partnership with the Government Communication and Information System, hosted a Women in Media and Communication Speed Mentoring Session in Pretoria.
Forty female journalism and communication students engaged with South Africa’s leading media professionals in short, focused sessions, gaining advice on career development, ethics, resilience, and collaboration.
The event concluded with a Q&A on balancing demanding careers, breaking barriers, and personal growth. Organisers highlighted the importance of empowering women in media and creating platforms for the next generation of leaders.

Western Cape and Johannesburg schools to represent SA in Singapore netball challenge

Manzomthombo Secondary School from the Western Cape and Helpmekaar Kollege of Johannesburg will travel to Singapore in November after winning the U15 finals at the Sanlam Kay Motsepe Schools Netball Championship in Rustenburg.
The tournament featured 36 schools from across South Africa, split into Botho and Ubuntu streams.
Manzomthombo beat Majeje Secondary to win the Ubuntu section, while Helpmekaar defeated Middelburg Hoerskool in the Botho stream.
Both teams will represent South Africa in the International Youth Netball Challenge and gain valuable international experience. The Motsepe Foundation congratulated the winners and praised the high standard of play.
