Women from across South Africa who have overcome adversity and made a positive impact in their communities have been recognised at the WomenCan Awards in Midrand.
Held under the theme Rebirth and Reinvention, the awards celebrate women driving change through business, leadership and community work.
Among those honoured was Lethabo Foundation founder Relebohile Msiza, who overcame cancer after being diagnosed while studying at university.

Global city guide and media platform Time Out has launched a dedicated guide to Durban, giving locals and visitors a new way to discover the city.
The platform covers restaurants, events, neighbourhoods, beaches, markets, nightlife, family activities and experiences across KwaZulu Natal.
It will also give local writers, creatives and community voices a platform to share stories about the city.
Durban was recently ranked among the world’s best places to travel to in 2026.

Parktown High learners turn wool donation into warmth

Parktown High School for Girls has received a generous donation of wool from Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre.
The wool was collected during a Nelson Mandela Day initiative and will be used by the school’s KnitWits club to make scarves, blankets and other handmade items for people in need.
The donation will also allow more learners to take part in the knitting and crochet project and help extend its reach into the community
