Learners at Boekenhout Primary School in Eldorado Park now have access to a new multipurpose sports facility and sporting equipment.
The facility was handed over through a partnership involving MultiChoice and Canal Plus, and will also be available to the wider community.
The initiative aims to give young people more opportunities to participate in sport and spend their time in positive activities.

Hamish Lovemore wins world championship silver

South African paddler Hamish Lovemore has won silver in the men’s 5 000 metre race at the Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships in Poland.
The 27 year old produced a powerful late surge, moving from the back of a four man battle to overtake two rivals before finishing just behind Portugal’s Fernando Pimenta.
Lovemore finished in 24 minutes and 17 seconds, matching the medal haul he achieved at last year’s World Championships.
He also won the 1 000 metre B Final.
