Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane has pledged to deliver a new school for the Nigel community within 18 months.
This follows weeks of disruption at Alra Park Primary, where parents closed the 85-year-old school over unsafe buildings.
Mobile classrooms and interim learning spaces will be provided to get learners back to class safely.
A catch-up plan, including weekend and after-school lessons, will help learners recover lost teaching time.
The new school is intended to benefit both current pupils and future generations.

South Africa has launched a major skills development programme to prepare students, workers, and communities for the growing green economy.
