JDA developing crucial farming infrastructure

The Johannesburg Development Agency is building crucial farming infrastructure at 5 sites across the city to combat food insecurity, support local farmers, and create jobs.
To tackle poverty and deal with the lack of farming infrastructure the JDA has launched the Urban Agriculture Food resilience Infrastructure Project.
The project will prioritize local labour, during construction to ensure maximum community benefit.
JDA CEO Themba Mathibe says by harvesting in sustainable farming infrastructure this will ensure communities have access to nutritious food, and to also equip local farmers with tools they need to succeed long-term.

Over 1,100 young South Africans unleash creativity in competitions

More than 1,100 young South Africans took part in the Hear Me Out and Keready to Ringa creative competitions over the past few months.
The competitions were part of the national Hold My Hand campaign, supporting the National Strategy to Accelerate Action for Children.
Through letters, poems, videos, songs, and drawings, the participants expressed their thoughts on topics including love, mental health, respect, digital life and safety.
Hold My Hand’s Lebo Motshegoa says the competitions gave the young people permission to speak freely.
