More than 20 pupils, invited by the Florida South Residents Association, joined volunteers from the KCCC Foundation to tackle trash and overgrown stormwater drains.
Principal Bongani Sibisi praised the students for giving back to the community, while FSRA chair Rodney Churchyard said restoring the lake to a family-friendly space requires collective effort.
After the cleanup, participants enjoyed refreshments at the Dardanelles MOTH Hall, with Churchyard noting the lake now looks “so much better.”
