Graduates were honoured across various fields of study, with more than 115,000 students from the classes of 2020 and 2021 recognised in special ceremonies.

Spar champions grassroots sports through provincial rugby sponsorships

Retail store Spar has announced that it will be sponsoring four provincial rugby teams, in a mission to prioritise community and to reinforce its commitment to grassroots sports development.

The retailer has become the official partner of The Sharks, the Vodacom Bulls, the Lions, and the DHL Stormers.

The National PR, Communications & Sponsorship Manager at Spar Group Southern Africa, Mpudi Maubane, says by backing provincial rugby teams, they're championing more than the sports itself, but also the families, communities and local economies that are powered by the sport.

The sponsorship will also extend to women’s rugby, which Includes the Bulls Daisies and the Sharks Women teams.

WhatsApp introduces in-app message translation feature

The messaging platform WhatsApp is rolling out a new in-app message translation feature to break down language barriers, allowing users to tap a "Translate" button, in order to view messages in their preferred language.

With a global user base of more than three billion across 180 countries, the chat service says it is empowering users to connect more freely by removing language barriers.

Translations are currently available in six languages on Android, including English, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic, while iPhone users will have access to over 19 languages from the start.

The rollout will begin with a select number of languages, with additional translations to be introduced.
