Servest and Lions Cricket join forces to support grassroots cricket

One of South Africa's largest Facilities Management providers, Servest, has partnered with the Gauteng Cricket Board "Lions Cricket" to support grassroots and underprivileged cricket talent.
As part of the partnership, Servest's Landscaping and Turf division will maintain and upkeep 21 cricket fields in underserved communities across Gauteng for the next 3-years.
These fields, home to 17 cricket clubs, will provide young players with access to well-maintained, world-class playing surfaces, inspiring and nurturing young talent.
Lions Cricket CEO Jono Leaf-Wright has expressed gratitude for the collaboration, noting that high-quality playing surfaces would significantly impact performance and participation.

Over 200 walkers participate in the annual Cancer Awareness Walk

Over 200 walkers participated in the annual Cancer Awareness Walk on the Garden Route, held in the Wilderness Section of the national park.
This was to honour survivors, supported those currently affected by cancer, and raised awareness about the importance of prevention, early detection, and treatment.
SANParks’ spokesperson, JP Louw, says this walk highlighted that cancer affects lives all year, across all ages, and that consistent awareness and preventative care remain vital:

The 19th annual South African Film and Television Awards have been rescheduled to March 2026, due to organisational changes and renewal with the National Film and video Foundation.
The adjustment also ensures that the Saftas align with the international awards calendar, providing South African talent the opportunity to be celebrated in parallel with major global film and television awards.
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Rirhandzu Machaba, says they look forward to celebrating an industry that continues to rise, inspire and unite.
