The exhibition marks what would have been Mofokeng’s 70th birthday and celebrates 10 years since the establishment of his foundation.

Standard Bank curator and gallery manager Dr Same Mdluli says the exhibition aims to give audiences a deeper understanding of the photographer’s contribution to visual storytelling.

Organisers hope the exhibition will inspire younger audiences and emerging photographers to engage with Mofokeng’s work and explore photography as a powerful storytelling tool.

Garden Route named world’s best road trip

South Africa’s iconic Garden Route has been named the world’s best road trip in a global study by AutoTrader.

The ranking evaluated routes based on scenery, road quality, weather and overall driving experience.

SANParks spokesperson JP Louw says the route includes the Wilderness, Knysna and Tsitsikamma sections of the Garden Route National Park, where visitors can explore forests, rivers, coastlines and wildlife while enjoying activities such as hiking, canoeing and coastal walks.

World’s fastest athletes set for historic World Athletics Relays in Botswana

The world’s fastest athletes will be competing at the Botswana National Stadium, for the historic World Athletics Relays this weekend.

The top six teams will qualify for the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship this September, while 12 teams in each of the six relay events will earn spots for the 2027 World Championships in Beijing.

The event will feature various events with elite athletes geared up to claim the top position.

Gaborone has become the eighth host city of the World Athletics Relays.
