Cricket South Africa’s Pink Day initiative raises R600k for cancer care
Story 1
R600 000 has been raised through Cricket South Africa’s Pink Day initiative.
The donation will support breast cancer care at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, by strengthening the facility's breast care unit and enhancing detection, treatment, and research in Gauteng.
The contribution followed the third Proteas Men’s T20I against the West Indies at the DP World Wanderers Stadium, where fans filled the stands in pink to raise awareness for early detection.
Pink Day, which began in 2011, continues to combine cricket and community action to support women’s breast health across South Africa.
