The 2026 Basketball Africa League season starts on 27 of this month in Pretoria with the Kalahari Conference group phase.
Johannesburg Giants will represent South Africa, tipping off against Dar City, and will face 5-other teams in the group stage.
Off the court, the BAL’s Future Pros programme trains young Africans in operations, branding, and community programmes, giving them hands-on experience within BAL and NBA Africa offices.
The BAL says the initiative was created to build local skills needed to run the league and turn it into a success.

The designers used local fabrics and craftsmanship in their collections.
17-year-old Rebecca Houenou won the grand prize with a collection made from washed-up plastic bags and seashells to highlight ocean conservation.
