Young creatives get business boost

Young creative entrepreneurs from rural areas and underserved communities have an opportunity to turn their business ideas into market-ready ventures through the latest Debut Fund Programme.
The initiative will support 50 aspiring entrepreneurs, aged 18 to 35, with mentorship, training and business development over an 11-month journey, helping them build sustainable careers in the creative sector.
The programme has already helped previous participants grow their businesses, with each new cohort expanding its reach and impact.
Applications close on the 17th of this month.

Researcher honoured for disability sport

University of Cape Town researcher Muya Koloko has been recognised nationally for expanding opportunities for athletes with disabilities through his work in goalball.
Koloko received the Kwenejejani Trophy for National Sport Code Convenor of the Year from the South African Sports Association for the Physically Disabled and Visually Impaired.
Over the past five years, he has helped grow the sport by developing young talent, strengthening junior teams and building the game from grassroots to national level.
His efforts are creating more opportunities for visually impaired athletes to compete and succeed in sport.
