City Power is calling on qualifying residents to urgently register for its Free Basic Electricity Programme which is designed to provide relief to low-income households.
The programme aims to benefit 130-thousand indigent households across Johannesburg offering 50-kilowatt of free electricity monthly.
The utility's Public Relations and Communication General Manager-- Isaac Mangena says eligible customers will receive monthly electricity allocations at no cost to cover essential household needs such as lighting, cooking, and heating.
The programme targets vulnerable groups including pensioners, child-headed homes, and individuals earning below the average salary.
Residents who qualify are urged to register for the programme before the deadline on July 31st.
