Learners at East Bank High School in Alexandra have received much-needed school uniforms, thanks to a donation drive led by the Thusong Youth Centre.
The centre provided trousers and other essentials to pupils from struggling households, many of whom arrive at school without proper clothing.
Management says the goal is to help learners focus on their education without the added pressure of financial hardship at home.
The school governing body has welcomed the support, saying the uniforms restore dignity, confidence and a sense of unity among learners.
The centre plans to continue assisting other schools across the community.
